We want to thank all of the organizations that applied for the 2011 Allegra FootPRINT Fund. We received applications from many worthy groups for grants this year. Choosing which organizations to award the grants to was no easy task. All the non-profit organizations that applied were worthy organizations. Decisions were made based on the following criteria:
Service expansion - Use of our services to promote new
programs or projects.
Program enhancements - Use of our services to contribute to
expanding an organization's awareness or existing
service projects.
Leveraged efforts - Use of our services to increase the impact
of other existing resources.
Our volunteer judges panel consisted of three individuals from outside our organization. Our judges were: Alan Titus from the Tucson Public Libraries, Suzanne Elefante, owner of Mama Louisa's Italian Restaurant, and regional author James Paddock.
In addition to the FootPRINT Fund recipients, we are proud to sponsor the following local organizations on an ongoing basis:
• Arizona Families for Children Adoption Information Center
• Optimist Clubs of Arizona "Friends of Youth"
• Patriot Golf Day Benefiting the Folds of Honor Foundation, and the Men and Women of DMAFB and the Arizona Air National Guard
• Southern Arizona Children's Advocacy Center
• Sabino Canyon Little League
• and others.
